Local “Mumpreneur” Reaches Finals of National Business Awards
Wigan based mum, and business owner, Claire Taylor, has earned herself a place in the final line-up of The Mpower National Business Awards, prestigious awards celebrating parents throughout the UK who manage the difficult task of juggling business with family life.
Founder of Taylor Made With Love, mother of one from Shevington, Claire, runs a business focused around up cycling furniture. She gives a new, modern look to pieces that would otherwise be destined for land fill and also runs a variety of workshops in Wigan and Manchester teaching others skills and inspiring confidence to tackle projects themselves too.
Claire has been shortlisted for the Courage category.
As well as being shortlisted for this category, Claire is also in with a chance of winning the title of Mpower Woman Of The Year 2018, which will be awarded to the mum who is an inspiration to all women in business, and could walk away with a fantastic prize.
Having reached the finals of The Mpower National Business Awards, Claire said, “I am thrilled to be a finalist for such an prestigious award. I gain such immense pleasure from transforming unwanted items into newly reloved pieces and never tire of the joy it brings to the new owners of my furniture. Since setting up as a business just eight months ago, it is incredible to see how quickly my business has grown and the variety of opportunities that come with it are so exciting. To have my work and achievements recognised at such an early stage is truly humbling.”
“There are a lot of awards out there, and we are proud about what makes these awards, and the women who enter, different!” said Nicola Huelin, multi-award winning business coach, founder of the Mpower awards, and mum to four children with her partner Graham. “Often invisible to most, mums in business are changing the business landscape, while raising and inspiring the generations of the future. We believe their efforts and successes in overcoming the unique challenges of combining business and motherhood, particularly in those first few years when it’s the hardest, need to be recognised and celebrated.”
Judging Claire’s entry will be a panel of top parent entrepreneurs but she’ll have to wait until 23rd June, when the winners will be announced at The Mpower Gala, being held at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury in London.
The Mpower Gala has been called The Networking Party Of The Year and is open to all entrepreneurs and business owners for an evening of networking, inspiration and celebration. Tickets can be purchased through the Mpower website, where you’ll find a range of resources and information for mums in business www.mpowerawards.com
